Dubai’s Bocasu Makes Global History With The World’s First Restaurant Dance Challenge

Bocasu, the homegrown Japanese dining concept from Al Quoz, Dubai, has done something no restaurant in the world has done before. It created an original song for its anime film, released it on Spotify, and is now challenging the globe to create a dance and share it. The winners take up to AED 35,000 in cash with a chance to be flown to Dubai for global finalists.

The Bocasu Dance Challenge is open to anyone, anywhere. Participants film their own dance to the Bocasu original song, post it on Instagram or Tiktok, tag @Bocasu_, and use #BocasuDanceChallenge. Categories include Top Social Media Favorite and Top Live Finalists; entries close August 2nd 2026. The finalists will be invited to perform live at Bocasu on a stage in front of a panel of judges and live audience on August 15th. Social Media Favorite winners based outside Dubai will be flown in to take their place on the finale stage.

The Bocasu Dance Challenge is the latest chapter in a brand that has consistently shown it is far beyond a homegrown restaurant. Since opening in Al Quoz, Bocasu has released a scripted comedy-drama series starring its staff as the main cast, published an original manga, and now its own anime film with an original theme song on Spotify. The dance challenge takes that same instinct global, a piece of culture that begins in Dubai and lands on screens across the world.
