Bocasu Becomes The First UAE Hospitality Concept To Produce A Scripted Series Starring Its Own Team

Bocasu has become the first hospitality concept in the UAE to create and produce a scripted comedy-drama series starring its own team, with the launch of BocaShow, a ten part series with no professional actors.

Bocasu is a homegrown Japanese dining concept in Al Quoz. Inspired by the real journey of building it, BocaShow captures the ambition, the creative clashes, the humour, and the cultural crossover that shaped the concept from idea to reality. Chef Yu Hasegawa, operations manager Izza, and the Bocasu team play versions of themselves on screen.

Filmed and produced entirely in the UAE, the series marks an unconventional approach to brand storytelling. Rather than running a traditional campaign,

Bocasu has built an original entertainment property around its own world and the people behind it.

The first season features guest appearances from figures across sport, culture, and entrepreneurship, including Javier Mendez, longtime coach to Khabib Nurmagomedov, UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem, and Emirati professional MMA fighter Hadi Omar Al Hussaini.

Bocasu marked the launch with a private first-look evening, where the team and select guests came together to watch the show for the first time. For the team, it was a rare moment in hospitality, seeing themselves as actors in their own series on the big screen. The night closed with the debut of Bocasu’s original song, now streaming on Spotify.

By becoming the first hospitality concept in the UAE to build a scripted series around its own team, Bocasu is positioning itself not only as a dining destination, but as a homegrown creative world built from the inside out.

That world is already expanding beyond the series. Season 2 of BocaShow is in production, and Bocasu is developing its own original anime that carries the brand’s Japanese world onto the screen in a new form.
